Cholla Cactus Skeleton
Galapagos Cholla Wood is a naturally fallen desert cactus skeleton. Its porous and fibrous texture is a magnet for shrimps and tiny aquatic creatures. It serves as an excellent natural anchor for growing aquatic plants and creates a fascinating underwater scene. The wood contains natural tannins that gently and naturally lower the pH in water. Moreover, it's a perfect decorative element for desert terrariums where desert snakes, geckos, chameleons, dragons, and iguanas live. It also makes a great natural perch for all kinds of birds.
To use Galapagos Cholla Wood in an aquarium, simply place it in the water. It'll start attracting shrimps and other small aquatic animals right away. You can also attach aquatic plants to it. In a desert terrarium, arrange it as a decoration and a perch for your reptiles or birds. When using it, be aware that the tannins in the wood will gradually lower the water pH. So, if you're keeping fish or other creatures that need a specific pH level, monitor the water regularly. To maintain the wood, rinse it occasionally in clean water to remove any debris. It doesn't require much more upkeep, and it'll last a long time adding beauty to your setup.
